Windows 7 Pre-Orders Pass Harry Potter

This is good news for the Redmond software giant and they should be counting their cash registers right now since the pre-orders for Windows 7 on Amazon UK has surpassed that of Harry Potter’s 2008 book — "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows."
Amazon UK’s managing director Brian McBride has told the Telegraph that the launch of Windows 7 has already exceeded everyone’s expectations as it has stormed ahead of the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallow’s as the biggest grossing pre-order product of all time. He continues that demand is still going strong and over the past three months only Dan Brown’s “The Lost Symbol” has sold more copies than Windows 7.
This is big because an operating system is far more expensive that books and for people to be opening their wallets for pre-orders says a lot for the software.
In the report posted by Telegraph, they also noted that the pre-orders for Windows 7 in its first eight hours has already exceeded the pre-orders for the entire Windows Vista campaign.
Anyways, the midnight opening sale of Windows 7 is under way and I have written an article over the Computers section of Everyjoe about the free software being handed out by Fry’s Electronics. Go ahead and read the list of free software here — Free Software from Fry’s Electronics at its Windows 7 Midnight Release.
The Telegraph’s report is here.

Hi,
I like this article but..
last night i went to the midnight premiere of harry potter and the half blood prince! I was honestly so disappointed! was it just me or did it seem very choppy and for some reason didn’t feel like it was a harry potter movie. Don’t get me wrong some of the parts in it were either really funny or somewhat scary but i really was not satisfied. I don’t know, what did you think?? Am i wrong? Give me your opinions..
