Windows CardSpace

Windows CardSpaceHave you heard of Windows CardSpace before? I hadn’t until I was just looking at my Control Panel and noticed a new icon that was available.

I just downloaded and installed Microsoft’s Silverlight program so was looking for different components it probabally had installed and I guess this is one of them. A little more research though and I found out it’s actually a component of the new .NET 3.0 framework.

It sounds like a pretty nice idea to me. Windows would manage a variety of contact and identity information for me for various websites I frequent regularly. Almost like the old Microsoft Wallet idea. In fact, I think this would make more sense named Microsoft Wallet than Windows CardSpace. Are they playing of the “MySpace” identity themselves?
