The new Microsoft Windows Live ID is position to become an even more effective tool for identity confirmation online. This won’t just be an upgrade to the existing Passport. I believe this type of authentication should become an even more stringent tool to assist in eliminating online identity theft (as well as offline) and should also reduce SPAM and phishing.
