Windows Live OneCare Beta Renewal

September 15, 2006 by Jason Bean

I’ve been a very happy user of the OneCare beta for quite awhile now. I received an e-mail two weeks ago letting me know it was time to renew my beta if I was still interested. The e-mail provided a verification code and a link to renew my subscription.

I followed the instructions provided and received the following error:

Cannot use prepaid card

The prepaid subscription PIN has already been used for the maximum purchases allowed.
If you get this message more than once, report it as a recurring problem.
Message 8059

Has anyone else received this error? The “report it as a recurring problem” opened up an e-mail for me to send, which I did, but I haven’t heard anything.

Let me know folks if you know something.

well, I got a similar error w. Windows Vista and I hadn’t even installed it yet. I was just trying to download it! and I’d paid for it. go figure.

I used OneCare for the free 90day trial and I liked it alot. It took care of all my spyware, virus, security needs;however, when my 90days ran out I had to uninstall it for new programs to transmit to the internet. So, because i did not have $50 at present to buy the service, I had to immediately uninstall it for my firefox beta2 to transmit to the internet.

I thought that was kinda low for onecare to block all new programs…
