Windows SP1 in Mid-March

Responding to reports that there will be a delay in Windows Vista Service Pack 1, product manager Nick White has this to say:
Aside from our having accelerated SP1 availability to MSDN/TechNet subscribers and volume licensing customers, there has been no change in the release.
As updates for the problematic drivers become available, they will be installed automatically by Windows Update so that the result is that more and more systems will automatically get SP1, but only when we are confident they will have a good experience. MSDN/TechNet Plus subscribers and volume licensing customers have already been provided access to SP1 in first wave languages.
I am glad that updating Windows Vista to Service Pack 1 would be painless thru automatic windows update. I just hope the windows experience would be painless as well for all consumers. Microsoft still remains firm that SP1 would be out by mid-March.
