Windows Vista Rollout Readiness Tools

Vista Blorge has put up a useful list of tools which could help in deploying Windows Vista and address issues like application compatability, driver problems, and machine power.

These tools include:

Windows Vista Hardware Assessment 1.0 – analyzes a hardware’s compatability with Windows Vista
Microsoft ACT 5.0 – helps analyze compatability of application to Windows Vista
USMT 3.0 – migrates user files and settings
Windows Easy Transfer – migrates user files and settings for large scale migration.
Microsoft Solution Accelerator For BDD 2007 – guidelines and tools for migration.

The resistance of people and organizations in moving to Windows Vista can be eased through the set of tools above; it may not cover everything from a deployment perspective, but it definitely helps.

  1. i recently bought a computer that came with vista-i had windows 98 before-i don’t understand vista-is there a way to find out how it works and are they gonna fix the problem with internet 7-this o/s seems to control me–is there a wy to learn to make it work for me–i am considering going to xp-but some say give vista a chance-give me a chance!

    You may start by disabling the User Access Control though I do not advise that in the long term:) Sometimes programs get tricky because of its complexity. In a nutshell when you encounter errors make sure you run the program in elevated privileges.
