The third annual womens blogging conference, BlogHer 07, is scheduled for July 27-29 in Chicago.
And it’s not just for geeks or experienced bloggers, nor is it focused on business blogging:
BlogHer is open to anyone and everyone who considers themselves part of the blogosphere, and is particularly focused on serving women who blog. All ages, ethnicities, genders, and levels of blogging experience are encouraged to attend.
There are six program tracks to cover a wide variety of blogging interests:
- Art of Life
- Business of You
- Community
- Identity
- Politics
- Technical
At $205.93 for two whole days it has to be one of the most reasonably priced conferences around.
Consideration is also being given to having an optional Sunday half-day unconference as a sort of “BlogHerCamp” – feedback has been invited on that idea.
Across the Atlantic and sooner, in the city of Leicester on June 8, the Leicester Business School is the venue for the Women Business Blogging Conference.
Although there have been several events in Europe looking at business blogging, it appears that this will be the first event focused on women bloggers. This too is a very reasonably priced event at ₤60 (₤40 concession). And if even that’s a stretch, for women living in the East Midlands there have been some bursaries provided: the closing date has passed but there’s an invitation to check and see if there are any still available.

Maybe I can make it to this event someday. My fear of flying and lack of funds for driving will leave me to wondering when I will se some of the topics appear online so that I can learn some new approaches.
