WORLD GRAINS PRODUCTION BALANCE SHEET 5: Liabilities in Wheat, Corn, Rice Production

Experts predict a food crisis in the near term. In developed economies, it is still just a more than usual increase in food prices. There are shortages in some countries. In others, there are food riots.

What are the LIABILITIES in the Balance Sheet of World Grains Production that has led to this situation?

WORLD GRAINS PRODUCTION BALANCE SHEET

In addition to inadequate increases in land areas devoted to grains production (with the conversions / diversions of land use to meat & dairy and biofuels, and residential developments), there are the changing weather patterns and droughts in rice & corn producing areas –probably due to global warming and climate change.

Drought in Rice Producing Areas

Some rice producing areas are plagued with new & resistant strains of pests. The use of chemical fertilizers (the cost of which have risen in the wake of oil price increases) has become a common and accepted practice.

I guess from the information and picture above
    we DON’T need God.
Man will take care of it :)

  2. ren says:

Thank you for visiting accountingsolver, Dixie.

    Of course, we need GOD.

But man has to do his part.

  3. Badcompany says:

It is man and his mismanagement of the resources and his greed that has brought this. You are right Dixie. Now would be a good time to turn to God but it won’t be done until it is too late. Ren will trust in the arm of flesh.

  4. ren says:

    Dear Dixie and Badcompany,

I completely agree that man’s mismanagement & greed has caused the world’s greatest problems, and it is always good to turn to God all the time. Please visit my post: http://www.accountingsolver.com/accounting-for-sunday-thoughts/

The normal order of things has been that God works through men –although God does not really need man to do anything.

    Ren,
I missunderstood your comment. I apologize. After reading the information you posted I do agree with and see your view. We are looking in all the wrong places for answers. You don’t want to limit any options in these times.
