Team17 is on top of pretty much any mobile platform out there, and they’ve just crossed iPhone/iPod Touch off their world-domination to-do list with the release of Worms for the Apple smartphone. Now you can carry this awesome and popular strategy game in your pocket and play it while dodging phone calls or waiting for the bus.
If you’re interested, head on over to the Apple store and download yourself a copy. The game is going for $4.99 and features the following:
- Authentic Worms gameplay
- Honed iPhone control system
- Carton-style visuals and comical audio
- Plan your attacks with the Sheep, Holy Hand Grenade and the Banana Bomb
- 50 Challenges, with items to unlock
- 6 environments, each one with random battlefields, no two games are the same
- Personalize your team with names, voices and gravestones
- Custom music support
- Auto-saves game on exit
Team17 also promises some more features in the near future, particuarly for the 3.0 software upgrade that hit not too long ago.
The game is compatible with either iPhone or iPod Touch (any generation, it seems like) so long as you’ve got OS 2.2.1 or later running.

When I read that headline I thought you meant a virus! Like a trogan worm. This is much better. The only problem is that that game is addictive. I’d never get anything done!
