Write Thank You Notes: Monday Morning Management Tip

One of the quickest ways you can make an impact on your team in just 15 minutes this Monday morning is to hand write thank you notes to each member of your team, and send it to their home address. If you have too many on your team to get them all done today, write a few today, a few tomorrow, and keep writing until you’ve said thanks to every member of your staff.
Be specific about what you are thankful for, whether it’s coming to work with a smile on their face every day, a contribution to a recent project, a new client they helped win over, or just something you noticed that helped them go above and beyond.
BONUS POINTS: If you know their significant other, send a thanks to him/her for sharing your player’s talents with you in a meaningful way.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to write some thank you notes to my team!

Thank you for a very timely reminder. This is one of those tasks you have every intention to do but drops off due to other commitments.

Great reminder and tip Phil. It seems most people don’t even know what a hand written thank you note is anymore.
I am always teaching that gratitude is key to success in anything!!!
Something hand written makes a huge difference over something electronic (although those can make a difference too.)
Just remember that a true attitude of gratitude will shine through in everything you do. It must be a life attitude. That’s what will make the real difference in your team and success.
Since nothing builds credibility like saying, “Thank you,” you’d wonder why it’s like pulling teeth to get some leaders to voice a word or two of appreciation.
I think it takes a fair amount of personal security to be able to see and articulate someone else’s contribution. Kudos to those who can and do.
