Writers Helping Writers

The other day, one of my writer friends called saying she was having a heck of a time getting started on a project. We chatted a few minutes, and she decided to turn it into a bookmark. A couple of hours later she called back to say she’d gotten a good start and was feeling better about it.
Yesterday another writer and I talked on the phone a bit about how many hours a day we actually spent writing and how many billable hours we were shooting for. I don’t think we resolved anything specific, but agreed to stay in touch on the topic.
I sometimes whine here or in our forum because I know someone will know what I’m talking about and show some empathy, plus some encouragement.
Although writing is almost done alone, we don’t have to be in isolation. We can reach out to other writers and make it possible for them to reach out to you – you’ll both be better writers and better people as a result.
