Writing A Bunch In A Hurry

blog.jpgLaura Spencer, who blogs at Business and Blogging, participated in b5media’s blogathon by posting a post every hour for 24 hours. That’s a whole bunch of posting any way you slice it.

She’s now written a blog entry called: How To Write A Lot Of Posts Quickly

Her tips 1, 2 and 4 would work in any writing situation. I particularly like picking a theme, which isn’t too different really, than creating a Purpose Statement, which is one of the drums I beat.

So… what are your favorite ways to write a bunch in a hurry. Tell us about it.

    I think that “Writing a bunch in a hurry” should satisfy all of the same requirements that “Writing Anything” should: i.e., you must

    1) know your audience
    2) know your topic
    3) have good quotes, facts, anecdotes, statistics to support it with
    4) have a solid medium for delivery

    Readers, writers, and everyone in between can sniff out the stuff that’s written poorly, whether it’s been written in a hurry or required bloodletting.

    In other words, I think the same rules of good writing apply no matter how quickly the words flowed……

    Maybe there are no “quick fixes” and “tricks” for a such a skill?

    There’s probably no better way to do it than what has already been listed here. I’d say write out your plan/topics on a whiteboard and leave it within your eyesight at all times. That usually keeps me motivated enough to write. I also find that late night sessions, when I can’t sleep, are a very stimulating time for my brain, allowing me to write 2-3 500+ word blog posts.

    Justin… I like the whiteboard idea… not sure I like the middle of the night… but that’s just me.
