When I quit my teaching (very active job) to become a full-time writer I knew I better do something so that my body didn't turn into an extension of my keyboard. I decided to leave my car at home for all of the time that my children are at school or camp. I bike ride everywhere I need to go. I bike to errands and to cafes and libraries to do my work. This way I keep in shape and keep myself out in the world! I agree.
