Writing From the Heart

heart.jpgValentine’s Day is a good time to remember what writing from the heart is… and isn’t. To me, writing from the heart is deep truth telling in a way that allows others to step into and understand your experience. It isn’t mawkish or overly sentimental, or overly anything come to think of it.

How do you get there? Well, practice is certainly part of it. Liz Strauss, creator of Successful Blog has a post today called: How to Write Intelligently from the Heart

She’s got some great suggestions there. I think my favorite is: Be willing to put yourself into what you write. I also like: Use simple words to describe your experience or argument.
