Writing Jobs and Non-U.S. Writers

moneyA writer in Australia asked me if I thought it was worth her time to apply for the U.S. based writing and editing jobs I post three times a week. My answer was a yes but.

Although the ‘net truly makes it possible for me to write in Australia or her to write in the U.S., many prospective clients, particularly U.S. clients don’t understand just how easy it can be.

The first suggestion I made was that she get a PayPal account. This allows clients to pay without much worrying about exchange rates. Another approach is a merchant account that allows her to accept credit cards from around the world. I use 2checkout.com because they have no monthly fee and are easy to integrate into a website.

The next thing a non-U.S. writer needs to be aware of is the differences in U.S. English and English as spoken and written elsewhere. You don’t have to be an expert, just aware.

Then it’s a matter of applying.

Of course, it goes the other way too. I work internationally. Currently I have one writing client in England and an advertiser based in Japan.

Write well and often,

That is good advice, Anne. I’ve had clients in Canada and Australia, the only difficulty we ran into was the time difference between ET me and the customer’s Sydney time. We were able to successfully work around it.

http://www.instabook-corporation.com Is a good that allows for the publication and circulation of books internationally online at a very reasonable price.

I will like to apply for a job that entails writing or editing online. Could you please let me in on the requirements and its modalities if my request is favorably considered.
