Wrong number sends media to phone sex line

If there’s one golden rule within the world of media relations at any sports level, it’s to double-check your work, and check it again one more time before you publish something. However, the University of Central Florida athletic media relations office didn’t do that and instead of tuning in for George O’Leary’s press conference, media members were given the number to a phone sex line.

When media members dialed the number, a voice picked up on the other end and said:

“Hi, sexy. You’ve reached the one-on-one fantasy line.”

Probably more entertaining than listening to O’Leary talk about UCF’s 17-point win over South Carolina State or their upcoming game against South Florida. However, the media relations director responsible, Leigh Torbin, did send out an apology to the Orlando Sentinel, who followed the wrong number from his press release.
