WWE: Three More Wrestlers Released
Fresh on the heals of the releases of Vito, Sabu, and others this week as well as rumors that RVD will be gone June 3rd, WWE has announced the releases of Scotty 2 Hotty, Ariel, and Nick Mitchell from the Spirit Squad. Here was what WWE had to say (don’t get your hopes up for much!):
WWE has come to terms on the release of Ariel, Scotty 2 Hotty & Nick Mitchell of the Spirit Squad. We wish them all the best in all future endeavors.
Although the latter 2 releases are not surprising as they had become nearly absent from TV in 2007, Ariel had been a staple on ECW accompanying Kevin Thorn in his matches. She was not weened off of TV appearances but simply yanked off rather abrubtly. I will keep an eye on this during next weeks ECW if Thorn makes an appearance to hear what the announcers have to say.
The wrestling news sites are reporting that Ariel was fired following an argument with Batista backstage. Another rumor is that Stephanie McMahon didn’t like Ariel’s unique look.
Although they didn’t give her much ring time, Ariel was a fan favorite. When will the WWE learn where their bread is buttered?
