Xbox 360ºF

Next Generation is reporting that the Xbox 360 may already be showing bad signs. Forum users are complaining of overheating problems with the 360 console. The problems have been reported to Microsoft, but speedy as always, Mr. Gates’ people have gotten around to revealing the problems, but not suggesting solutions. Most likely, those with the answers are busy soaking in dollar bill-filled tubs, and laughing maniacally as frustrated gamers are turned away from gaming stores, empty-handed. Meanwhile those at the bottom are left to clean up the mess.

Here’s some of the complaints from users:

TomStrong at GA-Forum wrote:

“I play Kameo (interesting game) for about 30 minutes and the 360 crashes!!! Ugh…. Power adaptor goes from solid green to a flashing orange…. What next? Well, shoot off an email to MS, get one back not too long ago, find out that the flashing orange means that Xbox has overheated!

Zeebo at Xbox Scene wrote:

“I just received my Xbox 360 today. It was freezing cold so I let it sit for about an hour. Plugged everything in got it up and started playing COD 2. I completed training and while it was loading it just went to a black screen. I waited for awhile and nothing happened so I turned it off, let it sit and turned it back on. I turned it back on to 3 red flashing lights. The top left and the two bottom.

“I found out that it’s the hard drive. They said they have received numerous calls already. I unplugged my hard drive and it worked fine. Put it back on my box and red lights again.”

Reaver at TeamXbox wrote:

“It worked when I set all my settings up. But I put in PGR3, it freezes when I get to the menu, did it 3 times. I put in PDZ, it freezes in the menu.”

Yannira also at TeamXbox wrote:

“All five of the games I bought freeze up after a few minutes, I am assuming because of the 360 heating up. It gets unusually hot, the game discs as well are red hot.

Well, I don’t know about you, but my invisible Xbox 360 works just fine.

Wow, that’s like a best of Micro$oft right there. Finally, you get to play with a console that will give you the same problems as your OS did on your computer!! That’s, like, so you don’t have to adapt, man.

That is seriously sad. I’m definitely not shelling out $399 for that kind of crap, for fighting with my PC is bad enough, thanks.

Hey, it could’ve been worse.. you could’ve been using a Mac… *shudders* (http://gallery.plebian.net/displayimage.php?album=6&pos=0 for everyone who hasn’t seen it)
I’m just happy all the meanies who’s got the xbox get some small problems in return *evil grin*

Hey, wow. I think I mentioned this in another post about not rushing to get one because it would be a first revision box with issues. ;)

    Haha – suckas! ;)

  5. The shortages were bad, this is far worse. That is why I rant…

And none of this showed up in the units sent out for demo/testing?

So what percentage of units are failing, and are they traceable back to a certain manufacturing plant or (lack of) quality controller?
