Xbox 360 Sales Continue to Slide

Japanese retail data delivered more bad news for Microsoft’s Xbox 360.  As of this past Friday, sales had dropped under 8,000 units (it only sold 7,663 units between January 19 and January 25, 2009).  The week before that, it fared considerably bettery after moving 9,576 units.

Even worse, there were no Xbox 360 titles in the top 10 game sales.

To be very honest, I’m not exactly sure what Microsoft could do better at this point.  They have introduced the revamped “New Xbox Experience,” they are releasing new titles in 2009 and they are advertising (a good Super Bowl ad would have been nice, though).

Any ideas?  What can they do to be more competitive.
