XP SP3 for MSFT in 2008 instead of 2007

ZD.net lets us know that the recent press release from Microsoft that mistakenly said that the XP SP3 service release would be coming the end of this year was a mistake. Oops!

The press release stated that the service pack could be expected towards the end of 2007. Instead it looks like we’ll all be waiting around to somewhere in 2008.

For me though, it doesn’t really bother me. Honestly, I wasn’t really expecting any official service pack release for the XP operating system. I figured that since Vista was launched and available in the various formats that they’d just focus on those developments and just continue patching and bug fixing issues in XP with standard Windows Update functionality.

I was trying to quickly look through the Microsoft website for an idea of what was expected to be included in the SP3 for XP release. I haven’t found any specific details yet, does anyone else know? Have they provided a list?
