Recently, Yahoo! India has just launched a new service for that market. This service is known as Yahoo! Local Beta and it would be providing local information for those who would be using it. And with the launch of this new service from Yahoo! India, Gopal Krishna, the head of audience for this arm of Yahoo!, had disclosed that their new service can be compared to be just like the new small car from Tata Motors – the Nano. He said, “It will be well received by users because it satisfies the users’ needs comprehensively. Although the automobile industry is over a hundred years old, the Nano is the most talked about car because of its mass appeal. Local Beta aims to serve its users in a similar manner.”

What does the new service do? Yahoo! Local Beta is a melting pot – it combines all the information that the Yellow Pages has and it has the interactive skills that one can experience with Yahoo! maps. Krishna continued, “If you need to access details of a restaurant or a convenience store or a gym in your locality, you can search for the same on the Local Beta site.”
