Yahoo! Backed by Open Content Alliance to Set a Web Library

Yahoo! has their own idea of offering books for online reading, instead of scanning just anything they’d like (as Google chose to do), they will buy older, out-of-print scans and place them on-line. This move has been made available through the Open Content Alliance, a non-profit organization spearheaded by the Internet Archive, which is compiling digital collections for researchers and the public.

This is a very welcomed move on Yahoo’s side, especially after all the problems Google has been running into with their Google Print project, and while the Google Print project may come to an end soon (due to legality problems) , the Yahoo project gets a lot of good rep and support.
