Yahtzee Not Silent About Silent Hill

Famous fast-talking game critic Yahtzee has lots to say about Silent Hill Origins for the PSP, and a great deal of it is justified:

Heck, he’s being nice; he rates most of the Silent Hill series on its story alone. He didn’t even give Bioshock the same courtesy.

I kind of feel bad saying it, but he’s right about a lot of those things. Origins is good but a little redundant. Heck, several of the enemies are just copies from SH2. You do get to explore new areas, but they aren’t really as interesting as you might hope, and it may have worked a bit better if they’d gone more for the nostalgia angle.

I don’t know what it was, exactly, but where I would enjoy exploring new areas in other SH games, it was more of a hassle in this one. Not enough “Boo” rooms, I guess. And the mirror thing.

Yahtzee is teh awesome. I don’t always agree with him, but we should all vote him for president. Or prime minister, since he’s from Australia.
