Yet another Plane Crash…

Is it just me or are plane crashes becoming way too common? Earlier this morning a Turkish Airline crashed trying to land at Schipol airport in Amsterdam. One-hundred and thirty five people on board, nine were announced dead and fifty injured. The plane broke into three separate pieces. The plane looks like it snapped right in half. So far they are unaware of the cause of the crash however it was said that the plane lost speed right before it went down.
The plane landed in a field about 500 meters from the runway, and lay in a muddy field. Apparently, the muddy field is what helped the crash to be less deadly by absorbing some of the heavy impact. They were lucky that the plane did not burst into flames.

In the past 2 months there have been at least 3 plane crashes. Lets not forget the ‘Miracle on the Hudson’ (where luckily everyone seemed to be alright), and just not too long ago the Buffalo plane crash that slammed into a family home.
How are we as consumers supposed to feel safe boarding onto a plane after reading incidents such as these. Everyone says that you have more of a chance being in a car accident than in a plane crash but is that true? Or is it only because the ratio between cars and planes are twice as high. How can airlines build trust among their customers so that we feel safe when we board on their flight.
