You Know Your Project Sucks When…

Just a little fun today, because it’s Friday and I just got my hair done. There’s just something about a haircut and color that makes the day a little brighter!

You know your freelance writing project sucks when…

  • …you wake up around 3 PM, realizing that you feel asleep a few hours ago mid-sentence. I’ve actually done this. I woke up with and three pages of jjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjj. I cracked myself up.

Hope your day was bright too! Image: sxc.hu

  • …you’re distracted by a funny YouTube video. Before you finish the first sentence. Yeah, guilty with this one too.
  • …the client emails you to check in, and then checks back an hour later. And then an hour later. WHY HAVEN’T YOU EMAILED HIM BACK! HE EMAILED YOU A FULL THREE HOURS AGO.
  • …you realize that you accidentally made your deadline for Thanksgiving Day, but your client is from a different country and unwilling to push it back.
  • …half-way through a ten-article project, you find out that there’s been a news update to the breaking story and you have to redo them all.
  • …the baby needs a fresh diaper and you don’t ask your spouse to do it, or even complain. In fact, you start feeding him prunes.

If you receive one email, another an hour later, and another an hour after that, it was only a full *two* hours ago that he emailed you.
