Queen Elizabeth II of the UK has a reputation for entertaining – but not necessarily keg parties. So it made news when the Queen was sent nearly 2,000 pints of beer by accident.
The delivery at Windsor Castle confused royal staff, who had no record of the order. A delivery truck attempted to deliver 12 kegs of lager to the castle just before England’s football World Cup qualifying match with Croatia (I guess the Queen is a football fan?). The beer was intended for the Windsor Castle pub five miles away, not Windsor Castle.
Fortunately, it was all straightened out. And the Brits won the game convincingly (4-1).
