The word “recession” is so prevalent in our society that one can rarely go through a day without hearing the word. As a business owner, it has become necessary to have a recession-proof plan in place with the state of the economy.

Depending on past success with a specific way of doing business may no longer work. Creative thinking and planning is coming into play so that business owners can “recession-proof” their business.

Recession-proofing is becoming a normal way to conduct business according to an article entitled “Recession-Proof Your Business” that was written by Karen E. Klein for BusinessWeek.com. In the article she states that…

Small Biz experts tell you how to prepare for the worst-stay lean, talk to your customers, and don’t stop hiring and marketing .

In an effort to hear what business owner are saying via a social network, I asked my Twitter followers what their thoughts were on the topic of “recession-proofing your business”. Below are a few of their responses:

  1. Thanks for linking to my column! I hope it is helpful to your readers. All that advice is still valid – and probably more so now than ever.

I’d love it if you’d link to my new blog, Financially inKleined, at http://www.kareneklein.blogspot.com. It’s a place to aggregate all my business writing and get my musings on the economy, business, etc.
