Your photo on the Internet

Recently I talked about how you can post photos from your phone straight to a wordpress weblog. Whilst writing the post, it occurred to me why some people post photos of themselves and others don’t. I have on my own blog because I feel that photos portray more information that text based content, it connects with the reader on a more personal level.

There’s a lot of bloggers out there that wouldn’t dare post their photo on the Internet and well, fair enough. However when we look at the successful and well known bloggers, they don’t seem to mind one bit. I am of course, talking about Darren and Scrivs who have countless times revealed themselves in one way or another. (I’m in love with a stripper anyone?)

I think it comes down to a time and place issue and whether it fits your personality. Posting photos of yourself on the Internet can be a great way to connect with your readers; however you must proceed with caution. The Internet is full of whackos and you should never reveal your address of residence or any other identifiable information.
