YouSendIt releases plug-in for Office

One of my favourite web apps out there is the file delivery service, YouSendIt. They’ve just announced the release of a plug-in for Office 2003 and 2007 that lets users send any file from Word, Excel and Powerpoint through YouSendIt. They’ve already got a plug-in for Outlook, so this was a natural progression.
Once you ask the plug-in to work for you, the process mimics YouSendIt’s online version: input the e-mail address of the recipient, decided how long the document should be preserved for, and send it. A progress bar displays how much time is left before the document is sent. You will need to register with YouSendIt, and put your user name and password into the pop up, but once you’ve done that, you’re good to go.
The only thing I can see being a bit of an issue is the fact that the cap for a YouSendIt file through Office is 2GB. Big PowerPoint presentations are bigger than that, which can make the plug-in a bit redundant.
The plug-in might not be the perfect add-on that makes your Office suite hum, but it certainly makes sending the occasional big file easier. It’s a light weight plug-in too, so it’s worth the download.
