Zune Z2k bug solution

At the eve of New Year’s, a significant number of 30GB Zune units went wonky due to an error to the internal clock. This happens if your Zune was built in 2006. The solution, says Microsoft, is simple. Let your Zune be and it will fix itself at the dawn of the New Year – which was just a few days ago.

“The problem should fix itself, says Microsoft. The internal clock on the Zune 30GB devices should automatically reset tomorrow noon GMT. “By tomorrow you should allow the battery to fully run out of power before the unit can restart successfully then simply ensure that your device is recharged, then turn it back on,” said Microsoft in a statement.” [source]

From what it seems, the Z2k outbreak the occurred accounts for something similar to how a Zombie outbreak goes (ZOMG, your Zune too???).
