April Fools!

Apart from Apple’s 30th year of existence, today is April Fools’ Day. I hope we all enjoy the day making fools of each other.

For instance, I woke up to my local Palm OS user community forum, which was taken over by the Windows Mobile community because our community head was allegedly cauht using a Windows Mobile device in public. “MaPalad” is a Filipino word that means “fortunate” coming from “being a handful” which relates to the palm of your hand. Turning it around to “MaLapad” means “wide” which is how the offline community is described when we meet to fill ourselves silly with food.

Then, our local Philippine Macintosh Users Group, PhilMUG, was changed overnight to PhilMUG – the Philippine Microsoft Users Group. And I quote,
First and foremost, we would like to thank John C. Dvorak for the heads-up in his PCMag.com article indicating Apple’s impending move to dump OS X for Microsoft’s Windows Operating System (Vista, we think it’s gonna be called). The transition has already started, with Apple adopting Intel processors in its new computers.
We have strong evidence that Apple, Adobe and Microsoft have abandoned all efforts in compiling binary versions of its pro applications, Creative Suite and Office for Mac respectively, the real reason being that OS X will no longer exist beyond 2006.
Have a good day!
