The new BlackBerry Bold 9700 is expected to launch very soon. The “Bold” series has garnered a high fanfare, mainly because of its ease of use. The new Bold 9700 will become even more user friendly, replacing the “Pearl” with an optical pad similar to the Mac compatible 8520 launched earlier this quarter. The new 9700 will feature a 3.2MP camera and voice calls via WiFi. Essentially it is the same BlackBerry we’ve come to love. Is this bad? RIM is turning into a Nokia with their release of very similar spec phones. [Read more]

Heroes III (not to be confused with Heroes of Might and Magic III) for the iPhone is similar to the already famous Mafia Wars series, except that this one is well … part III of the Heroes miniMMO for the iPhone / iPod touch. After creating an account, you will be tasked to perform acts of heroism around the virtual world populated by other players. You can also opt to upgrade your skills, form alliances and battle other players online. It’s pretty much the tried and tested mobile MMO formula with a hero’s cape clad over it. If you think about it, it’s not really expensive. Jamie Oliver has 50 new 20-minute recipes all tucked into your iPhone. I’ve been looking for a handy cookbook for grilled stuff and after searching the bookstore it really just dawned on me that it makes tons more sense to buy eCookBooks, especially those that have step by step videos and and photos. Jamie Oliver is one of the better ones and it is priced decently. You can grab the application here. [iTunes store Link] [Read more]
LG BL40 Chocolate Looks Even Better

Wow talk about rich in calories. The screen of the LG Chocolate BL40 can hold 32 icons. It is 4.0 inches wide with high-definition 800×345 LCD. That makes it really kick ass. Because the screen is big, you can view two applications running at the same time, each occupying half the screen. The BL40 comes with the usual perks — WiFi, HSDPA, a 3.5mm jack (yay!) and runs on the same OS as the LG Arena, which is damn good for LG. It seems also that the UI itself for the touch screen has matured, making response time really good for LG’s line of smart phones. We should stop calling it the BL40. It should have a sexier name. Maybe Rich Chocolate. [photo c/o LG Press Room] [Read more]
