Corporate Blogs and Tech Reviews

The Nokia Conversations blog contains a wealth of information about their new phones. I also noticed that they are starting to churn out more and more video reviews of phones which they upload onto YouTube and Share on Ovi. Well, truth be told, these aren’t really reviews — but features. I find it brilliant how Nokia makes these available for anyone to upload or embed onto their blogs. But the question is, if I was lazy to do a review, can’t I just be complacent and post a YouTube video from Nokia thinking it was a review?

I’ve noticed a trend in phone vids done by the tech blogs — they’re usually done in conferences and expos and they’re usually first impressions rather than actual reviews. I think it’s actually a stark, but potent strategy for Nokia to show off videos of their new phones first, because it would pretty much be the same thing that video bloggers would show off anyway. There’s not much difference.
