Deposit checks using the iPhone’s camera

Depositing checks … or cheques has gotten much easier. A US-based bank has developed an iPhone app that allows you to deposit checks by merely taking a photo of the front and back of that rectangular piece of paper and sending it into their system. The application scans the front and back of the check using the camera and the digital imprint is sent to the bank’s system.

This is rather scary for the technologically-appalled as the physical check you have in your hands will never have to go through the bank again. Call it peace of mind but I’m a little old school when it comes to these things but I can’t deny the fact that this is really cool.

This is really the future of mobile banking!
