Dunno why they give cool products such complicated names. As it follows, the rule of thumb for complex naming with letters and numbers applies to the new LG LW2-EV notebook. What’s so special about it? Well, consumer WiFi has just gotten an upgrade!
This is the first notebook to come bundled with a dual antenna for WiFi and EV-DO which is sort of like a faster version of wireless broadband.
EV-DO stands for Evolution Data only which has a maximum speed of 2.4 Mbps. Using EV-DO one can browse the Internet at high speeds. EV-DO is much advanced than GPRS and EDGE and can be easily accessed even in confined spaces like subway, etc. The LW20-EV has a built in dual antenna which allows to switch between Wi-Fi and EV-DO. It runs on Intel Sonata platform. A optional DMB receiver can also be attached.
Specifications
Processor – Intel Pentium M 1.86 Ghz
Memory – 1024 MB (1 GB)
Hard Drive – 60 GB
Optical Drive – DVD super drive (Hot swappable)
Display – 12.1″ WXGA
Now I can finally browse the Internet from my provincial hut up in the mountains.
Don’t you just love it when technology just gets better and better? Hopefully, it will make stuff much more cheap!
