Globe, SingTel, Bharti Airtel and Optus to carry iPhones in Asia

Really, there is no need for more words so I’m quoting the shortest press release ever made:
Manila, 12 May 2008 – Globe, SingTel, Bharti Airtel and Optus today announced that they have signed an agreement with Apple to bring the iPhone to the Philippines, Singapore, India, and Australia later this year.
More information will be released at a later date. [source]
The prediction last year was by mid 2008, Asia will legitimately have their shot at the iPhone. With hope, this should be the 3G iPhone running on a fast network that Asia supposedly prides itself in having. But wait, doesn’t Asia already have the iPhone? With a big YES to the iPhone and NO to the iTunes Store, I’m more excited to see a “so it follows” that because we’re now going to have the second coming of the Jesus Phone in Asia, so should the iTunes Store come forth and herald it’s release for applications and the SDK.
