Mac Apps: Apple Broadband Tuner

What does the Broadband Tuner do exactly?

The installer increases the default values for the size of the TCP send and receive buffers. With larger buffers more data can be in transit at once. A startup configuration file is also updated so that these changes will persist across restarts.

Simply put, it makes downloading stuff faster by making the packets downloaded bigger. Still don’t get it?

It is like feeding yourself a bowl of breakfast cereal. Imagine two bowls filled with cornflakes where bowl number one has bigger flakes than bowl number two. If you had a big mouth, you’d finish bowl number one faster. Now do you get it?

It’s like having two cows, where cow number one is happier with his life and cow numbe–

Look, its endorsed by Apple so it must be safe, TYVM.
