I received a press kit from Ogilvy that also included a Motorola KRZR K1 demo unit. The KRZR apparently comes in two models, the KRZR K1 which is pictured here and the gray and black KRZR K1m. In terms of difference, the one I have now has a slightly more advanced camera at an effective 2.0MP while the K1m is pegged at 1.3MP. The K1m is also CDMA based while the K1 is the GSM version. Update: Brad from Mobileburn points out that the Asian version of the KRZR K1m has a QVGA screen.

The press kit that was included contains a PR CD and several of these concept shots with the KRAZR and some models in a mirror image concept shoot.

It is actually spelled KRZR – no A. And keep in mind that there is an Asian version of the K1m as well, that features a QVGA screen.

    3. Jayvee says:

      @Brad,

Thanks for the spelling correction. I actually checked the stores and saw a GSM K1m and a K1 side by side. Thanks for pointing this out.

    4. Brad Kellett says:

No worries at all. I really hate to be picky, but the K1m only comes in a CDMA variant, I think you might have typoed in that last comment. Anyway, keep up the good work!

    5. Doug McClaine says:

Can someone please tell me if there is a new generation of Bluetooth available and if the Krazr has the new version?

      Thank you.

    10. Tyler says:

You guys are really wierd but i don’t kno if i like the RAZR or the KRZR better. wat do you guys like better???

    11. Aaron says:

I have a krzr k1m from us cellular. It does NOT support bluetooth stereo headsets, or Motorola wired stereo headsets. You must buy an adapter and use regular headsets, without microphones. And when you receive a call, you must unplug it. Also, Motorola’s software bundle, Phone Tools 4.0, is also not compatible with this phone. Should have bought an LG or Nokia.

    12. ryan says:

damn this phone its a nice ass phone but it costs 2 much but if anyone has 1 i will trade a loaded psp 2 them let me know if interested thanx

    13. motogal says:

i love this phone so much, its very good, and the cover is scratch proof!very reccomended.

    14. Donna says:

Can anyone tell me how you know who your text messages are from. The options in setup are address (which leaves the number) or subject (start of text message)! When I read a txt I want to know who the contact is and I have to keep checking my phone book so I know who the number belongs to!!! (my instruction booklet is in German by the way – I’m not that blonde)!! Please HEEEELP!!

    15. edwin says:

This phone looks and is very good. I have one myself and its much better then the old razr in terms of call quality and build quality.

    16. Jenny says:

okay so i have a krzr and i dont know how to assign a ringtone to my text messages. i did it when i first got the phone but i dont remember how.
so if someone could help me?

      thankss =)

    17. onaiza says:

to Jenny:to assign ringtones to test msgs, go to main menu, then settings, then audio, and then “loud” detail and that will allow you to assign ringtones for everything.

    18. black boy says:

my krazr will only stay charged for like 3 mintes will some one tell me who to fix it

    19. Aaron says:

it can’t be fixed. this happened to my friend’s razr, as well as my krzr k1m. not sure why, but suspect it was 2 gb micrSD card that caused both to fail. phone only compatible with 1 gb cards. if this is what happened to your phone, hope your warranty isn’t out-dated, because we both had to get new phones.

    20. Sparky2310 says:

Does anyone know how to work the block text message feature? I type in the number I want to block and it says sending request and it then says no response received. Does anyone know what to do?

    21. TalonII says:

I need to know if the Krzr has a basic feature that shows when a call was recieved and the duration of it my old phone had it but i have searched everywhere and cant seem to find the option

    22. Patti says:

Can someone tell me how to assign different ringtones to different people? I thought that “Ringer ID” in the person’s listing might do it but I’m not sure what that does. Thanks.

    23. John says:

I have a Razr V9 now and have 28 days to trade if I do not like it–I actually like the size of the KRZR K! better–do you guys think I am nuts for wanting to give up my V9—-The KRZR has all the features I will use on my V9

    24. Katy says:

    25. Don says:

    29. Olya says:

I can’t understand why can’t I assign the sounds from the memory card as a ringtunes? Is it possible that the phone doesn’t have that feature at all? Hard to believe. Help!

    30. Pat says:

I’ve had mine for about 3 months now, and suddenly the battery overheated when the phone was just sitting in my pocket. I turned the phone off and took the battery out, reinserted it, and the phone would not come back on. I, thinking it was the battery wasted $50 on a new battery only for it to do the same thing. The new battery and old wont re-charge and the phone is worthless now.

    31. Jones says:

This phone looks and is very good.

    32. Kevin says:

I just got one but it is still locked. Howdo unlock it? Help!!!!

    33. marc says:

i have a krzr and went to call someone and it never connected…i shut it off went to turn it back on and it wont even do that…put it on charger nuttin happened…what do i do??

    34. ciay says:

usually ur unlock code is the last four digits of ur number when u first get the phone

    35. Katy says:

    40. Tonya says:

Help! I have a KRZR that is locked to Rogers in Canada. I just signed up with TMobile and can’t use the phone. I contacted Rogers and they refuse to give me the unlock code. I have paid twice now to have it unlocked and no one has been successful. When I power the phone on, it says “Contact Provider.” I am extremely un-tech savy so if someone could help, I would greatly appreciate it!

    41. aliex weller says:

i want to know the name of the guy of this image press kit 2 pleas send me the name

    42. Mike says:

Is there any way to put your music as your ringtone on the K1???

    43. AC says:

I have never liked Motorola. I am Korean therefore I will stick with Samsung and LG products. Thanks for this informative article though!

    44. John says:

I know this post is very old, but sometimes is very funny to read product reviews after one or two years. In my opinion, there is only one real cell phone manufacturer – Nokia, all other guys just post-producers.
