New ROKR for MacWorld 2006?

So MacWorld is coming up and there seems to be nothing but predictions, mostly on the Intel Macs and a new 1GB iPod nano.

And then it hit me that Apple might release a second iteration of the ROKR that failed miserably when it launched a few months ago.

From a business perspective, Apple will never do a second ROKR – at least not yet, for protecting interests is one of the core ideas of good business. Stepping into the mobile phone market with iTunes was merely a stretch in marking territory.

*shrug*

But then again, who knows really? If its a stretch Apple will run across, then they better get started on a second iteration of the Newton. And give it phone functions.
