A good friend has written his first impressions on the new Nokia 6708, which is the first UIQ touch screen device in a Nokia phone.
At the very least, the Nokia 6780 teaches four good habits. There’s no
way to text while driving (1), since the only way to enter text is by
writing with the stylus on the unit’s touch-sensitive screen. This
will improve your penmanship (2).
Logic would dictate with the numeric keypad entirely; it only inputs
numbers and there is an on-screen version. It sits mockingly below the
screen, leaving you to wonder why Nokia eliminated its ability to
input text the good old-fashioned, tap-tap-tap way that people have
come to know and love.
People careless with possessions will learn to be more careful (3)
with the charger. Its proprietary design, incompatible with any Nokia
phone on the market today, means that finding a replacement is hard.
These are just some of the design quirks that make the 6780 a hard
phone to use. You also need to touch the screen to navigate through
the menus, even though buttons exist on the unit could do these, if
Nokia just let them. This means that aside from calling, it is
impossible to do anything else with one hand. Due to poor design on
the part of Nokia yet again, inadequate internal memory, slow
response, and minimal battery life, you’ll never be able to take
advantage of the phone’s strengths: Great PDA and office functions,
large screen, a good speaker, and passable handwriting recognition.
For the price of this phone, you can get much better.

Isn’t this a rebranded BENQ?
Yes it is rebranded BENQ.Handwriting recognition is excellent.Battery life is good.It lasts for good 1 and 1/2 days with net surfing and phone calls.It automatically downloads emails at fixed intervals(15min,30min,45min,60min as you want).No need to spend money on services like blackbery.
I was using Nokia 9500 earlier.I sold to by nokia 6708 and I am very happy with the decision.

I m unable to open email from its web sites on GPRS Connection as well as i munable to get email setting on phone. Explain the reason and procedure for
proper setting
Mine does not have some features like bluetooth and infrared. how is that? but it is a Nokia 6708
i having problem with my phone. at times that my phone is having a caution sign… and i dont know whats the problem since i already ask the nokia center to reset my program… in short my phone… is in always HUNG MODE… hehehehehehehe

well.. you better bring it to the nokia center.. they will reset the program.
the flashing light means the phones has a virus or some file means corrupted..
anyway,,,, that how its goes,,, see yahh
My opinion, this phone has very good features regarding business, professionals and other fields.
I use this currently and I am very enjoying with this mobile. But this has an dis-advantage that is while creating message, we do not write with keypad fastly.
i m having problem with my 6708 its touch srcreen fuction will stop working while working and starts automatically and the function of top side of the screen is not working when we touch on top the lower option got clicked plssssssssssss help me out pls
