First a disclaimer: I am a contributing editor for this magazine. Though it may seem that I’m serving my own interest, it is still kinda cool to know that this is the first magazine in the Philippines, if not South East Asia to feature a TMS tag on the front cover. Logic goes that when these magazines are on the stands, people can shoot the tags with their mobile phones to view a variety of customized content including video, audio, a sampling of the magazine, and even avail of promotions.

TMS or Tag Mobile Services is a back end service of the QR code that transforms these bar codes into a real business model.

On the cellphone related news, you will finally have a real motivation to use 3G and HSDPA connectivity to download online content, and not just to check the latest movie schedule.

That’s not a QR code there, but something else.

  2. Jayvee says:

well barcode technology which we call TMS. its similar.

  3. Jukka Eklund says:

Yes, similar but not QR Code which is a specific kind of code. TMS = a kind of 2D barcode, TMS != QR Code.

  4. STREETZ says:

    That is an eZcode.

TMS licenses the 2D barcode and mobile code reading platform from US based Scanbuy.
