Quicksilver

Before there was Spotlight, there was Quicksilver.
Quicksilver affirms the Zen mentality of most Mac users to get things done efficiently. I’ve been using this application for several months now and due to force of habit (or maybe because its just waaay cooler), it has redefined how my UI works. It does exactly what Spotlight does, leaving a set of options of what you want to do when a file is selected. It also takes prominence in the middle of the screen so its very hard to ignore. It also looks really cool, but I think I’ve stressed that already.
I made some booboos though. I remember typing in the word “iPod” thinking it would launch a folder by the same name. I forgot that I had just downloaded the Mac “iPod updater” and had my friend’s iPod conveniently docked.
Make a guess what happened next…

Quicksilver’s greatest strength, however, is not search. Any item you are able to find, drag, or otherwise pull into its universe is endowed with many potential uses. Hitting
