Samsung BlackJack: A True Wireless Ace

samsung-blackjack.jpgThe Samsung BlackJack claims to be the true winner in the wireless race as it features 3G connectivity, a “handily thin” real estate and push email. Let’s analyze this a bit. Devices such as Blackberry’s Pearl can surely be a close runner up because of the sleek design features and compact real etate. However, the lack of 3G and a full QWERTY keypad can cause some disappointment for power users. Though I personally don’t care much for 3G support (push email works fine on GSM although and EDGE proves to be sufficient for wireless email), the full QWERTY keypad makes the BlackJack rival Nokia’s E61 and E61i handhelds.

So as it is, the BlackJack’s game-breaker is Windows Mobile 5 and it pitts against the S60 operating system of Nokia E61i, which, put side by side essentially have similar features.

You can read a more complete review of the BlackJack here as it was tested on Cingular network from CNET.

  1. Samsung was aming to make this phone available on the market by Christmas 2006, but they failed. Now, that it comes to us, it’s obsolete already, in terms of OS (runs on Windows Mobile 5, when 6 has been released) and mounts a poor 1.3 Mp camera.
