Sony Ericsson and Eraserheads Promotion

If you’re from Asia, specifically the Philippines, this promotion would be almost unbelievable. The Eraserheads have been hailed as the best band in the Philippines in their time, the 1990’s, and they’ve been defunct for several years now. Recent events have them on the spotlight because of their reunion concert held a few weeks ago. I’m not too sure how effective it is to bundle music with mobile phones, but it does make sense when the band on the spotlight is HUGE, especially where Sony Ericsson is quite prominent. Nokia and Motorola have gone the music route sponsoring concerts and events. Back here, Nokia seems to sponsor the big room clubbing events (Big Fish) and the Independent Artists Club (IAC) while Motorola has gone for collaborations with the Moto Mashup series. Sony Ericsson has been pretty much out of the scene in marketing and ads, so this comeback is pretty remarkable with such a huge endorsement.
