Sony Ericsson has recently announced a heavy duty triband walkman phone in the W850. Perhaps the most notable feature in terms of hardware design is the migration to a slider phone real estate. This move must have come from several inconveniences for the heavy SMS sending market. Here in the Philippines, slider phones are ranked as the more popular choice compared to flip, twist and candybar phones because it is a compromise between style and ease of use for text.
The W850 comes with the new version of the Walkman player with UMTS 2100 that can search the Net for tracknames with Gracenote. IT also comes with a 2.0MP camera, Bluetooth 2 and ships with a 1GB Memory Stick Pro (maximum of 4GB).
