While I was in Singapore, Nikka Abes showed me a new offering for certain aluminum plated Nokia phones. For devices such as the E71, Nokia offers a high quality laser engraving promotion. I’m not exactly sure about the details on how to get one of these done — the engraving is done by a third party service contracted by Nokia which means you need to ask your nearest Nokia service center how to go about this promo. Remember, it is only available for certain types of units.
Sorry for the sketchy details but that was all I was provided with. In …read more

Aside from the more or less $100 price difference, here are some other differences between the Nokia E63 and the Nokia E71. Both of these phones are very similar in features and look but there are some differences worth noting in making some informed buying decisions:
1. The E63 comes with a flashlight button option. Hold a button down, and the flash LED light comes on. The E71 doesn’t have this feature.
2. While the E71 is locked, pressing the center button will show a quick time check.
3. The E63’s spacebar is significantly smaller than the E71’s spacebar in the thumb board.

Nokia E63 isn’t exactly low end E71

The Nokia E63 is the cheaper brother to the more elegant E71. Slightly thicker with more playful colors of blue and “Space Marine” red, the E63 boasts a similar form factor sans the secondary camera, HSDPA. It also comes with a lower resolution 2MP camera as compared to the E71’s 3.2MP camera. Truthfully, this is not a bad deal if you’ve always wanted to own an E71 but could not spare the extra cash. The phone is obviously targeted to compete with the Palm Centro which caters to a more young and hip market that desires much for a QWERTY …read more

Nokia E71: Enterprise Wonder – Just Got Thinner!

Today, Nokia announced their top of the line enterprise model, the E71. Though it hails from the previous oh-so-thin E61 design, the new E71 looks more elegant and is a tad thinner and sharper on the edges. The Nokia E71 also comes with a dual home screen feature which gives the user easy access to two home screens including shortcuts – one for business and one for work.
Two notable things – the E71 comes with the standard Bluetooth and USB connectivity but it also comes with IrDA support for compatibility with older devices. Perhaps the only negative thing we …read more
