I think it was too soon to announce the N97’s miniature clone, but that’s how Nokia flies. The smaller N97 comes with a set of specs that doesn’t put it to shame if you compare it side by side its older brother.
The N97 comes with a special “Lifecasting” feature that allows you to update your Facebook status from the home screen. This is actually a special partnership with Facebook, showing the absolute necessity for such a social network these days — it becomes a featured highlight of the phone itself.

With the new Facebook layout (are you liking it?) several apps developers have come up with Facebook 2.0 apps that don’t seem to be backward compatible with the “old” layout. One of these is the Share on Ovi application that embeds your public media timeline to Facebook. So what this means is that your friends can see new media you uploaded via Ovi (and ultimately your Nokia mobile phone).
Cool beans.

Aaron Brazell reports some battery anomalies after installing the FaceBook application for his BlackBerry. Since then, I haven’t had the guts to install the application to my Pearl, especially since I’m currently in transit from a trip. Scary. The application allegedly messes around with the charging cycles. After deleting the app, his phone’s battery status rose from 10% to 15%.
Have any of you Berry users experienced similar impediments with the FaceBook application?
