So there’s Twitter – a social crowd control tool that by chance just grew into that sort of thing.
Here’s something similar in effect but different in execution: FrontlineSMS is a desktop client that resembles a good mass SMS client that’s specifically meant for keeping a huge number of people up to date with activities.
