This is a bit odd, but if you’re up for a time water then you’ve met the King. I’m actually impressed with how this company was able to haggle for that domain name — must have cost a lot (they’re been around since 2004 BTW)! But anyway, I digress.

You can play these games on your browser but there are also mobile versions of every game. Playing is free, but King will start you up with USD $5.00 which allows you to participate and bet in cash tournaments.

Only Nokia can pull something like this off. With the online gaming stores of XBOX Live, PSN and the Wii Shop fast gaining popularity, Nokia wants in. And they definitely have something to show for it. And yeah come to think of it, they are the only mobile phone hardware manufacturer that goes “360″ with its product line as tey support the hardware and software for quick deployment of applications to millions of phones around the world.

Aki Jarvilehto from Nokia told a panel at Develop Mobile 2008 conference that they are looking to expand their Ngage games into other platforms. He said they are looking into “concepts where we use the same assets for Xbox Live Arcade or PlayStation Online.” This is interesting because it could mean that I can play a game on my phone, save my stats, then continue playing on the Xbox when I get home.

Yes, there is a possibility that the Nokia N-Gage and the XBOX Live and PSN store will see some sort of collaboration. They say that Web 3.0 is going to be all about mobile phones and application scaling. This might actually spearhead the industry.

Rumors, rumors, rumors. But wow.
