Straight out from a sitcom, President Obama’s speech is interrupted — humorously — by a quacking duck. The phonecall came from one of the members of the media during a press conference.

OK folks, if you want to receive updates from the White House, they have created a new Twitter account, a spin off from Obama’s Twitter feed during the elections. Of course, it goes without saying that you can subscribe to their feed also through your mobile phone.
Which brings me to ask — do you actually turn on mobile updates for your Twitter feed, or is it really just one big mess? I used to turn it on — but realized it was such a hassle having to keep up with so many messages involuntarily as they were pushed to my [...]
Post from: Cellphone9

As reported from Bloomberg:

Texting may do for the Democratic presidential candidate what arm-twisting precinct captains did in years past: prod millions to get out and vote. The Obama campaign plans to use the millions of cell-phone numbers it has amassed over the past 22 months to blast its supporters with that message today.

The biggest concern for the Obama campaign is getting young people — who have registered in record numbers and shown unprecedented interest in surveys — to turn out. In 2004, only 45 percent of those under 30 showed up to vote, according to Census data, making them just 16 percent of the electorate that year.

… Studies show that texting is among the most effective and cheapest ways of getting supporters, particularly blacks, Hispanics and younger voters, to the voting booth.

Remember the early days of the mobile phone, when a battery charger was almost as huge as a car battery? That’s what Obama is using to compare to McCain.
